Initial situation
- lack of water supply

BBM solution approach
- Installation of a pump system: exact design according to a "pump test report” (ideally, if available) incl. appropriate design of the water tank. Where possible, the pumps are powered by solar electricity.
- Rainwater is used whenever possible: Treatment as drinking water or as grey water for irrigation
- Wastewater treatment through constructed wetlands: simple technology – simple maintenance – the treated water can be reused
- Introduction of adapted toilet systems: Reduce water use through composting or segregated toilets where culturally accepted
